On January 9, 2025, the Department of Social Insurance Services announced an update to the maximum insurable earnings for the year 2025. The new limits have been set at €1,281 per week, €5,551 per month, and €66,612 per annum. Notably, the contribution rates for self-employed individuals will remain unchanged for 2025.
These maximum insurable earnings thresholds are used to calculate contributions to the Social Insurance Fund, Redundancy Fund, and Training and Development Fund. However, it is important to highlight that contributions to the Social Cohesion Fund are calculated based on actual earnings and are not subject to these caps.
